Old Macdonalds

Jackson and Scott occasionally have a guys night at McDonalds. I had to work late tonight, so Scott took Jackson to their favorite spot...Old Macdonalds as Jackson calls it.

Risky Business

Jackson is working on potty training. It's a slow process, but we've been asked to take it slow and let him take the lead. So hopefully he's trained within the next couple of years. Some days he wants to be a big boy and wear underwear instead of pull-ups. Here he is, risky business style:

Fun Photos

Here is a quick update on Jackson.  He's been a lot of fun lately...talking up a storm, making up songs, telling us wild and crazy stories...he has a great imagination.  We still have the terrible twos in full force, but he is better able to understand the difference between "happy choices" and "sad choices".  Of course there are many sad choices, but now he knows there are consequences when he picks those.  He also likes to keep us in line, he's quick to tell us when we have made a sad choice or are being "diff-cult".  And he frequently tells on the cats, letting us know immediately when they are doing something he thinks calls for a timeout.  He is also making a lot of progress with potty training.  A majority of the time he lets us know when he has to go pee, a big step in the right direction.

Here are a few photos from the last week:

I Angry

Jackson is taking swimming lessons again. This class is supposed to be child in the water with teacher, parents on the side cheering on. But not my kid. He is unwilling to get near the pool without me in it. I arrived at the first class straight from work. In my suit and heels. The manager asks me if I brought my suit. Um, if you mean my business suit, then yes. So that class was a disaster. Then we had to skip two weeks because of his stitches. So I wasn't sure what to think when we went to class last week. The good news is he will "swim" if I am in the water. He seems to have forgotten how to hold his breathe, so that's a little bit of a problem. But in between participation times (when the other kids are swimming) he sat on the side of the pool and cried. He kept telling me "I angry". I'm happy that he can verbalize anger. But in this situation, I had to ignore him. Here's hoping he gets the hang of this quickly and starts swimming with Ms Becky!
