Jackson drew a picture of our family tonight.  He says that I am a princess, daddy is a king and he is a prince.  Interesting hats.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day Weekend!  Jackson had lots of sun and water time, so he was a very happy camper.  We did get some much needed rain towards the end of the weekend, at least that kept the temperatures cool!

Party on the Farm

Jackson requested to have his birthday party on a farm.  That was actually his second choice; first choice was to go to a police station.  I said I would "call" the police station but if they said no, then where would he like to go.  He said a farm.  Thankfully we had hired Cathy's Critters twice before and had a great experience with them, so that seemed like a good farm to go visit.  They are located in Princeton, just on the other side of McKinney.  So a bit of a drive, but I think it was worth it.  We got to see a ton of animals, some that I had never even heard of before.  Jackson got plenty of time with "his" horse Dallas.  They had a cute little barn-like activity room where we could do snacks and cake.  All in all, I think it was a perfect choice for Jackson's 5th birthday party.  Everyone had a blast!

Dinner with Dad & Diana

We had the opportunity for a nice dinner out with Dad and Diana tonight.  They are in town to celebrate Jackson's birthday and before all the festivities begin we had a nice evening out. We went to Bob's and it was super yummy!  Fun night!

Jackson is 5!!!!!

I cannot believe my baby is 5!  He's such a big boy now!  It's been a very fun and full day.  We started with Kindergarten Orientation.  I think it was kinda special that he gets to tour the "big kid" school on his big kid birthday.  Then he was off to his school where he celebrated all day with his friends.  After school we let the tired birthday boy pick dinner...he chose Kenny's of course.  They were super great, even making his ice cream sundae extra big and special.  After dinner we came home to open a couple presents and have a slice of strawberry cake.  Fun!

 

Kindergarten Orientation

This morning we attended Kindergarten Orientation at Jackson's new school.  The whole purpose of this event was to allow the incoming kids to get to see the school before new year starts.  The tours were led by the current Kindergarten kids.  While they were out on their tour, the parents received a (semi) informative session from the Principal and other teachers.  I was worried that Jackson would be nervous, shy and reserved.  But instead he was SUPER excited!  I loved watching his excitement.  

Ice Cream!

We took Jackson out for ice cream tonight after dinner.  We had never been to this spot and it was a fun way to end our evening.  Jackson was in heaven!

Dinner

Jackson loves to eat dinner anywhere but home.  Something about the chocolate milk, coloring paper and crayons must be super exciting to him.  Here are some photos of him enjoying going out over the past week:

Happy Mother's Day!

What a special Mother's Day!  Jackson came home with a couple very sweet handmade gifts.  My favorite gift came in a white bag with a sweet poem.  Inside was a flower to plant in the garden.  On Saturday a beautiful bouquet of flowers and chocolates arrived.  What a wonderful day!
