Toddler Bed

After at least 25 climbs out of the crib, including a Sunday morning "wakey wakey", we decided it was time to transform Jackson's crib into a toddler bed.  We took the front rail of his crib on Sunday afternoon while he was playing in the living room.  When we were done we brought him into his room to see his new bed.  At first he was very upset, told me that I broke his bed and needed to fix it.  He even spit on it a few times (nice).  But after a few minutes he started to accept it.  He gathered all of his animals (and as many books and toys as he could find) and let them "check out" the new bed.  It was hilarious.  I was worried bed time would be really tough, and the first 30 minutes were.  He wouldn't stay in bed and was scared.  But after a few trips back into his room, he went to sleep and slept through the night.  We are hoping that tonight is even easier.

Cousins!

Jackson's cousin, Abby, is spending the week with us this week.  Jackson has really enjoyed playing with her and getting to know her.  Here's a picture of them playing on the patio:

Art

Dad sent me something in the mail this week and included a little sketch.  Jackson thought it was a perfect coloring page.  Here's the final result of Jorge/Jackson Art:

We Love Spring

Spring is such a great time of year in Texas!  It's perfect for an evening on the patio and dinner outside.  Here is a picture of Jackson while we were grilling steaks on Saturday:

Swimming Update

Swimming class has become the highlight of Jackson's week.  He can't wait for Thursday so that he can go swimming with Ms Becky.  He loves it!  And his skills have really improved as well.  He is now holding his breath for 9 seconds, can swim between 5 and 10 feet (depending on whether or not he is interesting in kicking), can float on his back and goes down the big kid slide.  It's amazing.  Here are a couple pics from last week's class:
