We took Jackson to the doctor last week for his 12 month check-up. It was by far the most difficult doctor appointment we have had. Don't know exactly what went wrong, but Jackson screamed his head off from the moment we walked into the exam room until we were back in the car driving away. It was a very exhausting experience for everyone involved. Despite Jackson's lovely tantrum, Dr G said he looks great. He weighed in at 23.3 pounds (60 percentile), was 30" tall (75 percentile) and has a huge head (95 percentile). Here's a few more new things about the little monkey:
- "Tiger" may have been his official first word. While it didn't come out very clear, it was most definitely our cat's name. He has called him by name a few more times since this first occurrence late last week.

- He is starting to walk! He can take about 8 or 10 steps at a time before he falls down or sits down. He is very proud of himself when he does this. He is also getting pretty good at balancing by himself for longer periods of time.
- Over the weekend we changed over to whole milk and are only giving him sippy cups during the day (no bottles). The first day (yesterday) was extremely difficult, but today was a little bit better.
- We are completely done with baby food and are experimenting with all kinds of table food now. He tried watermelon for the first time tonight and loved it.
- We spent most of the day yesterday at the pool and Jackson absolutely loved playing in the water. Well, at least until he got hot, hungry, and tired.
- His 8th tooth finally came in today (bottom right). And his top two molars are starting to come in.
- He will be transitioning to the toddler room at school starting tomorrow. Such a big boy!

Good work on the sippy cup and walking! Landon was on the cup at 10 months only out of convenience for me (hah) and walked at 12.5 months! SO FUN!
How fast a year flies by!!! So fun to see Jackson's progress!
Still can't believe a whole year has passed!! He looks great and is getting so big. Can you believe that at 18 months, Leyton weighed 23 pounds, too? He's our little peanut. Jackson will be walking before you know it, and then look out!!
seems like just yesterday you were living here and not pregnant visiting me with Brody as a newborn...time flies! He's a cutie!
